(2/9/09) Vehicle burglaries
have been reported on Lowell Ave in Strathmoor Manor, and in
Kingsley on Kings Hwy. Reports indicate that the
perpetrator(s) entered unlocked vehicles and took items left in
plain view in the passenger compartments. Please tell your
family and neighbors to lock their vehicles. Ensure that, if
leaving your belongings in the car, that you put them out of sight
in the trunk. Report any suspicious persons, vehicles, or
incidents to the police as soon as possible (Police Cell

At approximately 4:00 pm today
(1/15/09), a white male, 50’s, wearing a hat (no other description
at this time) approached a resident on Tyler Lane and said he was
collecting information for a city survey. Please be advised
that the cities of Strathmoor Village, Strathmoor Manor &
Kingsley are not conducting a survey. This man is not a
representative of any of the cities. If anyone approaches you
and requests information of this nature, do not give him any
information. Contact the police as soon as possible
(432-8900) and give them a description of the person and
their vehicle.
Additionally, a
resident has recently reported a garage burglary in Strathmoor Manor
on Emerson Ave, where tools were stolen from an unlocked
garage. A resident on Gladstone in the City of Kingsley
reported a clock missing from his residence. Please lock your
homes when you are away. Notify the police (432-8900)
when you will be gone overnight and we will physically check your
residence each shift.

JOE RENZI
I graduated from Iroquois High
School in 1969 and went into the Marines
a week later for 3 years, honorably discharged as
a Sergeant. I then
spent several years studying and teaching martial arts (primarily
Chinese Kenpo) and have attained the rank of 6th degree black belt.
In July of last year I was honored to be inducted into the Kenpo
Hall of Fame.
In
1977, I became re-acquainted with my high school sweetheart, Nancy.
We married in 1980 and are raising 3 children, Nora, Madeline, and
Nick. I also have a 5 year old grandson. I graduated from U of L in
1981, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Police
Administration. I returned to U of L several years later and worked
on my Masters Degree in Elementary Education, student teaching and
taking classes during the day and policing at night.
In 1978
I started my career in police week for the City of Plantation. I
went to work for the City of Devondale in 1979, becoming their
Chief in 1980. Several years later Devondale merged with the City of
Graymoor and became the City of
Graymoor-Devondale. I was the Chief for 28 years before retiring in
April of this year and joining the Strathmoor
Village Police
